Interior Design: Kid Spaces

One of the things that brings me joy is a clean home with a relaxing atmosphere…

…Additionally, our conversations have started to include the discussion of children.

With that in mind, I wanted to start looking at where kids would spend time in the home and making those spaces a little more fun. I wanted to add bright colors, shapes, smells, etc. I wanted to create sensory-enhancing spaces. I wanted these spaces to have a little adventure.

My initial ideas:

Guest bedroom possibilities:

  • Dinosaurs

  • Outer space

Bathroom possibilities

  • Ocean

  • Aquatic Friends

Living Room;

  • Nature
  • Camping

I have started to make these spaces more adventurous with kids in mind. Like the kitchen, I am still making some adjustments and will post photos later.

Interior Design: Twin Cities Kitchen

One of the things that brings me joy is a clean home with a relaxing atmosphere.

When we moved into our place a year and a half ago, the kitchen had just been remodeled with dark cabinetry, white appliances, light wood counter tops, and a tin back-splash. Also noteworthy is that the kitchen is small and the space is engineered just right to fit the appliances. With this in mind, I had to be very create in the organizing of out things with limited space. Even the fridge is an “apartment fridge” which is a tad bit smaller than a standard fridge but larger than a mini fridge.

These images have been inspirational for me:

I am still working on some additional touches for our kitchen but, once I am done, I will share the results with you.
